Plume Joins DTCC Digital Assets Solutions Industry Working…

Real-world asset (RWA) blockchain Plume has joined the DTCC Digital Assets Solutions Industry Working Group, becoming one of the latest digital asset infrastructure providers to collaborate with the world’s largest post-trade market infrastructure operator on the future of tokenized securities. The appointment places Plume alongside more than 50 banks, asset managers, custodians, broker-dealers and digital asset firms working with the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) to develop and refine The Depository Trust Company’s (DTC) Tokenization Service, which is scheduled for a full commercial launch in October 2026 following successful production trading in July.

DTCC’s Industry Working Group was established to help define technical standards, interoperability requirements and operational workflows for institutional tokenized securities. Participants include major financial institutions such as BlackRock, Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, Charles Schwab, Citi, HSBC, Franklin Templeton, Circle, BitGo, Fireblocks and numerous digital asset infrastructure providers. For Plume, membership represents another step toward integrating its real-world asset infrastructure with traditional financial markets as institutional adoption of tokenization accelerates.

The announcement follows a period of rapid growth for the network. Plume recently reported more than $115 million in real-world asset total value locked (TVL) and over 200,000 RWA holders, while also receiving in-principle approval for a Class M Digital Asset Business Licence from the Bermuda Monetary Authority.

Institutional Tokenization Continues to Accelerate

DTCC’s tokenization initiative is one of the largest institutional blockchain projects currently under development. The organization, which safeguards more than $114 trillion in securities and processes quadrillions of dollars of transactions annually, is building infrastructure that enables traditional securities held at the DTC to be represented as blockchain-based tokens while preserving existing investor protections and settlement processes.

In July 2026, DTCC completed its first production trades involving tokenized US securities, demonstrating that tokenized assets could be used across multiple real-world capital markets workflows before the platform’s planned October rollout. The successful pilot is widely viewed as a major milestone for institutional blockchain adoption. By joining the working group, Plume will contribute to discussions around interoperability between public blockchain infrastructure and DTCC’s institutional settlement systems, an area increasingly viewed as critical for scaling tokenized real-world assets.

Bridging Traditional Finance and DeFi

Plume has positioned itself as infrastructure focused specifically on bringing regulated real-world assets—including private credit, Treasuries and structured financial products—onto public blockchain networks. Unlike many blockchain projects that primarily target decentralized finance users, Plume has increasingly emphasized institutional compliance and distribution. The company has expanded partnerships with centralized exchanges, fintech platforms and decentralized finance protocols while pursuing regulatory licensing in Bermuda.

Participation in the DTCC working group aligns with that strategy, giving Plume an opportunity to collaborate directly with some of the world’s largest financial institutions as industry standards for tokenized securities continue to evolve. The broader tokenization market has attracted significant momentum over the past year, with asset managers, banks and market infrastructure providers racing to digitize traditional financial instruments. Supporters argue that blockchain-based settlement can improve efficiency, reduce operational costs and enable near-instant transfers of traditionally illiquid assets.

For Plume, joining the DTCC Digital Assets Solutions Industry Working Group represents more than a partnership announcement. It signals growing recognition that public blockchain infrastructure is becoming part of the institutional conversation surrounding tokenized capital markets. As DTCC prepares to launch its tokenization platform later this year, collaboration between traditional financial institutions and blockchain-native networks is expected to play an increasingly important role in shaping the next generation of global market infrastructure.
